The history of the Children & Young Adult' Service

Original combined as one service, Positive Paths, overtime naturally divided into a children and adult' service. Service manager, Lauren Clapton, shaped the children service into a 1:1 or 2:1 short-time respite service for children with additional needs.

Previously, the service was a small organisation that primarily focused on Friday and Saturday support with occasional support throughout the week. Within the last two to three years, Positive Paths Children service, seen an increase of school leavers that had limited options on other services to progress to.

From this, the service grew to what is now the Children and Young Adults service, where support is in place for over several young adults, Monday-Friday. The increase growth of the service, has allowed us to expand and in 2020 invested in a permanent base that are service users and staff have full access of.
